Europe at my playground

We are searching for 2 volunteers from Spain for playfull SVE in Poland.  Good level of English required.

Short description

Our project “Europe at my playground” will last from 01st July until 31 August 2017. It involves 4 volunteers: Spain and Georgia. These volunteers will run 6-week workshops with youth from 12-16 years old. Space for organizing workshops provided for us the Centre for Sustainable Development of Wroclaw’s Communities at the University of Wroclaw. Kids involved in those classes will be kids from impoverished districts of Wroclaw. Our volunteers will be young people who are involved in youth work, willing to face new challenges, gain new experiences and full of creative ideas.

Within one-week preparation with experienced trainers and youth workers volunteers will prepare author workshop plan, which they will realize during their service. We would like the classes to bring such topics as citizen’s awareness, ecology and intercultural dialogue.

The main idea of the project is to bring Europe to playgrounds of Wroclaw, to those who cannot access it by themselves. Through actions of our volunteer we also want to widen youth’s perception of the world, fight against stereotypes and arouse their creative thinking. Through contact with new cultures and languages we want to  offer the youth active holidays, motivate them to learn new languages and encourage to rediscover educational process. What is more, we want to promote the idea of European Voluntary Service and volunteering. In our project we will use such methods as: teambuilding, team work, working on a movie, photography, picnic organization, workshops, sport games, contests.
