WHAT'S THE DEAL WE OFFER YOU
The ideal of the united people of Europe is collapsing. Today, more than ever, it is necessary to weave a network of bridges in our continent between east and west, between north and south. Bridges that promote cultural dialogue between nationalities to combat old and new prejudices that inevitably lead to discrimination and xenophobia. At Xeración, we are working to facilitate this mutual understanding. However, this is only possible by having volunteers from different nationalities.
That is why we need you!
We are looking for four volunteers to give us a helping hand organizing linguistic workshops, presentations, cultural activities, events and all the international projects Xeración is developing.
We can offer you a full immersion in the Galician culture while you improve your linguistic, cultural and project management skills in a practical way. These skills will help you to integrate into the labor market at the end of the project. We believe in the importance of self development. Besides taking part in existing projects, we offer you the possibility and support to implement your own ideas. This way, ESC will become a more personal and enriching experience.
THE TASKS
Projects
You will assist us on the implementation of local and international youth projects
Languages
You will organize and facilitate language exchanges and workshops
Environment
You will give a hand in the Urban Garden, participate in beach clean ups and tree plantations
Media
You will learn how to create promo videos and produce short documentaries
WHERE
The project takes place in Ferrol, a metropolitan area with almost 120K inhabitants, in the northwest of Spain. The city is located on the coast of Galicia, not far from A Coruña and Santiago de Compostela.
Accommodation
As volunteers, you are split between the 2 furnished flats we rent in the center of Ferrol. There you will find your room, a living room, a kitchen and two bathrooms. Thereby, you will share your flat with your workmates, having a single or a shared bedroom with someone of the same gender.
The office is 7 minutes away from both flats by foot and you can also find supermarkets, lots of bars, pubs and cafeterias nearby.
