(ENGLISH VERSION BELOW)

¡Hola!

Hello! My name is Çagatay and
I arrived in Galicia 20 days ago with Ayça, the other turkish volunteer and this is my experience so far.
The people here are very warm, intimate, friendly and welcoming. Since the first day we arrived, everybody is doing the best to make us feel good and make it easier for us to get used to our new life.

I loved everybody I met, making plans with my new friends makes me happy.
I like Naron and Ferrol because i don’t like the crowds and noises, I love green and nature so here is the right place for me. The only bad thing is the weather, because It is so cold for me but i hope it will be nicer…Spring is coming!

At the beginning of march, Ayça and I went to La Coruna and we made a tour of the city. The Hercules’ tower is so beautiful and I love its history. I also liked very much the old city centre.
Last weekend, we discovered the northern coast of Galicia, we went to the beach of Doniños, Santa Comba, Valdoviño and “The best bank in the world”.
Galicia has a really beautiful nature. I would like to visit more and return to the beach, especially when summer comes.

The same evening, a surprise was waiting me because it was my birthday! When I went home, I found out that my flatmates organized a birthday celebration for me and it made me really happy. Honestly I have to admit that I saw the cake before so it wasn’t a real surprise, but I really appreciated what they did.

Everything is going well and I hope it will be even better.
I have a lot of work to do and  I’m looking forward to live this experience.

Ayca de Turquía a Galicia

(English version below)

¡Hola!

Hi! My name is Ayca and I came from Turkey to Galicia as a EVS volunteer.

First of all, when I heard that I had been selected by Xeracion and I was very happy to become a part of this family.

I arrived in Naron at the beginning of march and I will live here for 6 months. This is my first visit to Spain. The first thing that caught my attention was the rain´s jokes.

I said rain´s joke because it is suddenly raining and then stop – after 15 min it is raining again and stop. again and again 🙂 It`s reason why everywhere is green and the air is so fresh. Everything is connected and it’s wonderful !!

I want to talk about people and the way of life in Galicia.

All the people that live in here are very talkative, friendly and funny.

There are rest periods called «siesta». And all of the shops, banks, cafes and this kind of places are closed in this time. It is a very interesting thing for me, because in Turkey we don’t have this.

Another “cultural shock” for me was that when I have to cross on the zebra crossing and all cars stop to let me pass and I think that this is a very polite behavior.

The streets here are very clean and you can find recycling bins everywhere.

I want to mention the natural beauty of the Galicia too. Galicia has a lot of beaches and green places and we had the opportunity to see them during the weekend. It was a wonderful experience.

If you want to concentrate on yourself while listening to the sounds of waves in the nature, you should  come here!

The Narón experience

En Xeración he estado trabajando organizando diversos eventos.

Hola! Me llamo Berra Arı. Soy de Turquia. I come from Turkey to Galicia to be volunteer and I will stay in Ferrol for 2 months. This is my first abroad experience and I have been first time to Spain to Spain. I had been 17 days in Ferrol. I tell you my experience until 17 days. My first attention everywhere is green (because I live in Ankara and Ankara is dry city) and the weather suddenly change. The morning sunny but afternoon rainy. I think Galicia people are used to this weather 🙂 and the weather is getting so late. My second attention Spanish people are eating for us too late. We never eat dinner at midnight.

The streets so clean in Ferrol and the people kind. Spanish food and Turkish food like each other. I tried Tortilla and it is delicious. There are many beaches at A Coruña and I went to Faro De Punta Frouxeira and there is amazing view. The other my little tour was Fragas do Eume. The Monastery is old and mystery.

Xeracion organize various events. These events are about the cleaning of Ferrol streets, cultural interaction and education. We organised Turkish Night to give information about Turkish Culture.

Finally the days go very fast in Ferrol 🙂
